Chiptuning is the modification of a car's engine control software. It is performed to increase engine power and torque, improve flexibility and sometimes even reduce fuel consumption.

Online chiptuning involves the customer sending data from the engine control computer (ECU) to the tuner, which modifies the software based on the data and sends it back to the customer. The customer uploads the modified program to the ECU and enjoys the new performance.

Chiptuning, if carried out by an experienced tuner and taking into account the capabilities of the engine, is safe. It is important that the tuner has the necessary experience and knowledge, and that the modifications are done with a head.

  •     Increased power and torque: The car becomes more dynamic and more responsive to the accelerator pedal.
  •     Improved flexibility: The engine handles better in different rpm ranges, making overtaking and uphill driving easier.
  •     Opportunity to reduce fuel consumption: In some cases, with the right driving style, chiptuning can save fuel.

Chiptuning in itself is legal, but changes to the vehicle must comply with current regulations, including those on exhaust emissions and noise levels.

The price of chip tuning depends on many factors, such as the model of the car, the extent of modifications and the experience of the tuner.
